How does the Oasis purification system work?
Reverse Osmosis:
Reverse Osmosis (RO) has very high effectiveness in removing bacteria and viruses from water. Oasis makes use of industrial RO machines that uses high-quality membranes with pores around 0.0001 microns. These membranes act like a sieve that blocks almost everything else, except water molecules. According to the Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), bacteria (like Salmonella) and viruses are too big and can therefore not pass through the reverse osmosis membrane and are flushed away in the wastewater.
UV Disinfection:
UV light treatment is effective against all viruses, bacteria and protozoa. As the Government of Western Australia Department of Health explains in a statement- when UV light enters a microorganism, its energy will damage the microorganism’s cellular function.
Ozone:
Ozone is injected into Oasis Water after it is purified. In a study published in Applied and Environmental Microbiology (1995), ozone instantly killed the Salmonella typhimurium cells.
