Stay safe from Typhoid fever with Oasis Water.
After news reports that Typhoid fever (also known as enteric fever) broke out across South Africa, many consumers are looking more closely at the quality of the drinking water they consume. And we are proud to say Oasis water is Typhoid fever-free.
QUALITY PURIFIED WATER
As one of the leading water companies in Southern Africa, Oasis prides itself in providing consumers with only the safest and best quality drinking water. And we are proud to say that our water is Typhoid fever-free.
To achieve this, Oasis Water uses a 6-step purification process:
Step 1: Rapid Sand Filtration
Step 2: Carbon Filtration
Step 3: Element Filtration
Step 4: Reverse Osmosis
Step 5: Ultra Violet Treatment
Step 6: Ozonation
Three of these treatment methods, kill the Salmonella typhi bacteria that cause enteric fever, making our water completely safe for consumption by the entire family and Typhoid free. It is also worth noting that our tried and trusted purification-treatment steps also remove various other bacteria and viruses.
How does the Oasis purification system work?
Reverse Osmosis (RO) has very high effectiveness in removing bacteria and viruses from water. Oasis makes use of industrial RO machines that uses high-quality membranes with pores around 0.0001 microns. These membranes act like a sieve that blocks almost everything else, except water molecules. According to the Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), bacteria (like Salmonella) and viruses are too big and can therefore not pass through the reverse osmosis membrane and are flushed away in the wastewater.
UV light treatment is effective against all viruses, bacteria and protozoa. As the Government of Western Australia Department of Health explains in a statement- when UV light enters a microorganism, its energy will damage the microorganism’s cellular function.
Ozone is injected into Oasis Water after it is purified. In a study published in Applied and Environmental Microbiology (1995), ozone instantly killed the Salmonella typhimurium cells.
Oasis Water is monitored daily and free from Salmonella typhi.
